“Integrity” and “congruency”: these words represent some very important concepts if you want to live your life on-purpose, or as I like to say, according to your life plan. These two words came out in a conference call sponsored by my coach, Scott Brandon Hoffman.
Scott’s premise was that we must all strive to live our lives on purpose (my word not his). According to Scott, “When you ignore what you know you were here to do you are flipping the Universe a finger.” LOL. He also pointed out that we have to embrace every single part of our real selves regardless of what we do.
This is small challenge. First you’ve got to be meticulously selective of the things I do from day-to-day and minute-to minute to make sure they are congruent with your life path. That means getting real good at saying “no” to tasks that aren’t aligned with your life purpose. And this can be tough, but how else can you live with integrity to who you really are?
Here’s the cool part. As fantastic as it will be to live on purpose, or on my life path, you don’t have to be perfect at it. In fact you won’t be. But you’ve just got to keep trying to align with your purpose and slowly, but surely, you’ll get there.
Then you’ll be living with integrity and congruency to your life path or purpose.
Phil,
Great post about sticking to your passion and living within it every day. The idea of having to get everything perfect will do much to hold you in place, stopping you from moving forward. Great points to remember when understanding the whole of the journey.
